You have arrived at a crossroads. Before continuing on through the next steps, check the packaging labels to see whether you have an AIO cooler (marked E) or an air cooler (marked F). If you have an air cooler, continue reading. If you have an AIO cooler, skip this level and go to Level 4A.

AMD® CPU
A. AM4 Socket
It may require added force to ensure screws are secure and firmly in place.
Firmly press the hexagonal screws into the recesses labeled “AM4” until they are flush with the backplate.
Intel® CPU
B. LGA115x Socket
It may require added force to ensure screws are secure and firmly in place.
Firmly press the hexagonal screws into the recesses labeled “LGA115x” until they are flush with the backplate.
C. Ensure Screws are Secure
Note: Red lines indicate silhouette of AMD® version.
Note: Blue lines indicate silhouette of Intel® version.
Flip the backplate with all 4 screws over and shake to ensure all the screws are seated securely.
D. Pay Attention to Orientation
When mounting the backplate on the upcoming steps, make sure that your backplate is vertically oriented when attaching.
E. Attach the Backplate
Example above is of an Intel® backplate installation.
Align the backplate screws with the holes on the motherboard and run the screws through.
F. Secure the Nuts and Washers
Add the included washers and secure the nuts on top of the washers by screwing them in by hand until secure.
You Will Resume Installing This Cooler at a Later Stage in the Build
Keep track of and safely store away all provided screws and materials that have not yet been used.
