If you have a Kraken cooler with a built-in display, you may receive an error stating GPU driver update required with a warning sign next to the device. This error appears when the CAM software is unable to access the GPU Driver either due to an outdated driver or incompatible renderer.
If you encounter this error, please try the following steps:
- Update your GPU drivers to the latest version available
- This includes any graphics drivers for Onboard Graphics (i.e. Intel HD Graphics, AMD Onboard Graphics)
- Disconnect any external display devices, such as USB to HDMI adapters or USB Info Panels
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, you can try adjusting the Graphics API and Graphics Adapter settings in the CAM software itself. Click the ⚙ Settings option in the bottom-left corner, then scroll to the bottom of the General tab.
For older Graphics Cards, changing the Graphics API from Vulkan to DirectX 12 can clear this error. Additionally, if your PC has both Discrete and Onboard graphics you can try changing the Graphics Adapter from Low Performance to High Performance.
If the issue persists, please reach out to our Customer Support team using the Support option in the CAM settings. Be sure to include your CAM logs and hardware specification data in your request.
