What are normal temperatures ranges for my CPU?
Normal temperatures for your CPU are
- 30-45C when the computer is idle
- 50-80C when the computer is under load
- 90C+ means the computer is overheating
What should I do if my CPU temperatures are running higher than normal ranges?
- Check to see if there is dust in your system/case (fan filters, fans, etc) and make sure that it is cleaned
- Make sure nothing is obstructing your computer’s airflow inside the case
- Check to see if the fans/cooler are actually running at the right speed
- Users can also try using a more aggressive fan curve so that there is more airflow within the system
- Users can also try to replace the thermal paste on their CPU, especially if they have been running the same system for over long periods of time
- If you have applied an overclock to your CPU, this could be the drawing in too much heat. We recommend running it back at the stock speed/clocks to ensure that it is not the overclocking that is causing your CPU to overheat
- Make sure that your computer is not under too much load. Having too many programs up can affect the temperatures on your computer
What are normal temperatures ranges for my GPU?
Normal temperatures for your GPU are
- 30-45C when the computer is idle
- 45-85C when the computer is under load
- 90C+ means the computer is overheating
What should I do if my GPU temperatures are running higher than normal ranges?
- Make sure nothing is obstructing your computer’s airflow inside the case. Check to see if there is any dust in your system/case
- Make sure it is running at stock clocks and not overclocked
- Increase the fan profile to a more aggressive fan profile to push more air into the GPU
- For certain games, sometimes Vsync has to be turned on so that the GPU does not push itself to the highest frame rates that it can reach, which could cause it to overheat. This will lock the GPU to only display the highest frame rate your display can achieve.
Is my fan broken on my GPU if they are not spinning?
Some GPU fans do not spin/turn on until they reach a certain temperature threshold which is usually around 60C. Don’t worry if your fans are not spinning if the temps are under 60C
