The Smart Device v2 is an RGB and Fan Controller included within our "i" series cases such as the H210i, H510i, and H710i. If you are having problems with this product and your RGB fans are not lighting up, this article will help you troubleshoot this.
Troubleshooting problems with RGB power.
Firstly, prior to any troubleshooting, please verify if your controller is recognized by our CAM software. If the controller is not visible in our CAM software, this is likely the cause of your issue, please refer to our article on this issue, My CAM Powered Device Is Not Recognized. Now you will want to make sure your controller is receiving power for your RGB products. To do so, firstly reconnect the SATA power connector connected to your PSU. If this does not work, try connecting the cable to a different port on your power supply. Next, please verify if your RGB products are recognized under the Smart Device v2 in CAM (example found below). If your RGB products are not visible in our CAM software and not lighting up, reconnect them to the controller to verify connectivity. Additionally, the Smart Device v2 has two RGB channels on them, so try switching your RGB devices to the other available channel (or swap the connectors if you have RGB devices occupying both connectors). If swapping the connectors fixes the issue for one of the RGB devices, then the controller is likely defective, please contact our customer service team for further assistance.
If the RGB devices still are not working, if possible, try using a different connector from the RGB product to the controller. If you have an additional NZXT RGB compatible device in your system, such as our RGB & Fan Controller, N7 Z490, or a Kraken X3/Z3 cooler, try connecting the RGB device directly to those products. If the lighting still does not come on with a different controller, then it is safe to assume that the RGB product is defective. If the lighting does come on when connected to a different controller please contact our customer service team for further assistance.
