| H210 Guide | ||||||
This guide is specific to the H210 case released in 2019. This case model can be easily identified by checking the Model# on the rear of the case.
|
For this guide, you will need the following:
- A Philips #1 Screw Driver
- A replacement H210 Top I/O Module (aka USB Module)
- (Recommended) A magnetic parts tray or organizer
Preparing the Case
To replace the Top I/O Module, start by removing the Tempered Glass Side Panel and Metal Side Panel by loosening screws on the back of the case as shown below. These are captive screws which will stay with the panel. Do not attempt to remove the screws.
Once the screws are loosened, remove the panels and set them aside. To remove the Metal Front Panel, grip the panel from the underside of the bottom edge and firmly pull it outward. The panel is friction-fit and should pop off with some force.
After removing the Metal Front Panel, we'll need to remove the Front Air Filter and Front Radiator Bracket to gain full access to the module. The Front Air Filter is held with plastic clips while the bracket will be held using captive thumbscrews.
- If you are using a front-mounted radiator, it is recommended to unscrew the radiator from the bracket before removing the bracket to avoid damaging the connecting tubes.
- If you are using front-mounted fans, it is safe to remove the bracket without removing the fans.
With the Front Air Filter and Front Radiator Bracket removed, we will now have full access to the Front I/O Module. At this step it is recommended to disconnect the Front I/O Module before removing the module from the case. All H210 series cases will use the following connections:
- F_PANEL
- HD_AUDIO
- USB 3.1 Gen 1 Internal (19-pin header)
- USB 3.1 Gen 2 Internal (Reversible Type-E)
Removing the Front Panel USB Module
The Front Panel I/O Module will be located in the top-right corner of the case as shown below. To remove the module, remove the three screws marked with arrows below. Do not remove the three screws marked with an X.
To install the replacement module, follow the instructions above in reverse-order.
