Due to hardware updates between different Kraken generations, older breakout cables will not be compatible with newer Kraken models. Other hardware such as Fans or Mounting Hardware (i.e. mounting brackets, backplates) may be compatible, however additional hardware may be necessary.
Asetek-based Krakens (Kraken X and Z series, Kraken (2023), Kraken Elite (2023)) all use the same shared mounting hardware which can be re-used between generations.
Newer Krakens like the Kraken Plus (2025), Kraken Elite (2024), and Kraken Core (2025) use updated mounting hardware which is not compatible with previous generation Kraken coolers.
