When connecting your Kraken AIO liquid cooler to your PC, you will have two options available for connecting the 3-pin Pump cable to the motherboard. This cable does not power the pump and is instead used exclusively for reporting the Pump Tachometer (TACH) data to the Motherboard.
The correct port will depend on the configuration of your Kraken cooler.
- If your fans are connected to the Kraken's breakout cable - Connect the 3-pin Pump cable to the CPU_FAN header on the motherboard. This will allow the CAM software to read the Pump RPM in the PC Monitoring tab and prevent the Motherboard from reporting a missing fan error.
- If your fans are not connected to the Kraken's breakout cable - Connect the 3-pin PUMP cable to the AIO_PUMP or CPU_OPT header on the motherboard and the fans to the CPU_FAN header. This will allow the CAM software to read the Fan RPM in the PC Monitoring tab, prevent the Motherboard from reporting a missing fan error, and allow the motherboard to control the speed of the CPU fans.

| Depending on your motherboard manufacturer, the secondary CPU Fan header may have a different name. Common names are CPU_OPT, AIO_PUMPT, or CPU_FAN2. For more information, please refer to your motherboard user's manual. |
