This FAQ covers the NZXT N7 Z490 series Motherboard.
Is the N7 Z490 compatible with the NZXT Smart Device or RGB & Fan Controller?
The N7 Z490 is fully compatible with all USB-based NZXT products, including the Smart Device, RGB & Fan Controller, and Kraken series AIO liquid coolers.
How many RGB headers are included on the N7 Z490?
The N7 Z490 includes two (2) 4-pin NZXT RGB headers specifically for NZXT RGB products, as well as a one (1) 12V RGB header and one (1) 5V Addressable RGB header for non-NZXT RGB products. For more information on controlling third party 12V RGB and 5V ARGB product, please check out our guide here:

Does the N7 Z490 support Gen1 NZXT RGB devices (i.e. Aer RGB fans, RGB strips, etc.)?
The NZXT N7 Z490 supports both Gen1 and Gen2 NZXT RGB devices. Please note, you cannot mix different generation NZXT RGB products on the same channel/port.
Does the N7 Z490 support 2.5G or 5 Gigabit Ethernet?
The N7 Z490 motherboard's onboard Network Interface Controller (NIC) only supports up to 1 Gigabit Ethernet.
Is the N7 Z490 compatible with AMD CPUs?
The N7 Z490 is only compatible with 10th and 11th generation* Intel CPUs. For AMD compatible motherboards, please see either our N7 B550 or N7 B650E motherboards for more information.
* Compatibility with 11th Generation Intel CPUs may require a UEFI/BIOS update.
Can I update the UEFI/BIOS on the N7 Z490 without a compatible CPU (BIOS Flashback)?
The N7 Z490 does not include support for BIOS Flashback. To update the UEFI/BIOS, a compatible 10th generation CPU will be required.
Where is the BIOS Code Display on the N7 Z490?
Unlike the previous generation of the NZXT N7 motherboard, the N7 Z490 does not include a seven-segment LED code readout. As an alternative, the N7 Z490 instead includes four Debug LEDs found in the bottom-right corner of the motherboard. These LEDs are labeled CPU, DRAM, VGA, and BOOT and can be used to isolate issues during startup.
Is the N7 Z490 available in colors other than Black or White?
The N7 Z490 is only available in Black or White at this time.
Does the N7 Z490 have support for Intel® Thunderbolt™ Technology?
The N7 Z490 motherboard does not include native support for Intel® Thunderbolt™ Technology.
Can I control the motherboard fans within the NZXT CAM software?
Yes! All fans connected to the NZXT N7 Z490's fan headers can be controlled through the NZXT CAM software.
Can I overclock or tune my CPU using NZXT CAM?
The NZXT CAM software does not include any controls for overclocking your PC hardware. To overclock or tune your CPU's performance, you will need to enter the UEFI/BIOS at startup. NZXT Customer Support is not able to provide support or assistance in regards to Overclocking, Undervolting, or Tuning your CPU performance.
Damage caused by Overclocking or Tuning our CPU may not be covered under your system or CPU warranty and can result in damage not covered under the CPU or Motherboard warranty.
Does the N7 Z490 have support for Resizable BAR?
With the latest BIOS updates, the N7 Z490 does include Resizable BAR Support. Please note, this feature is experimental and we are unable to provide troubleshooting for any issues with this function.
