Adding Additional RGB Fans to the H510 Elite

This guide will cover adding additional RGB fans to your H510 Elite case.

Please note:  Only Aer 2 RGB fans can be daisy chained within the NZXT H510 Elite case.  Other fans such as the F-Series RGB fans cannot be daisy-chained within the case but are compatible with the included RGB Controller.

Out of the box, the H510 Elite includes four pre-installed fans:

  • 2x Front-mounted Aer RGB 2 140mm RGB Fans
  • 2x Aer F 120mm (Case Version) Fans

If you would like to swap the pre-installed Aer F 120mm fans with RGB fans, you'll need to daisy chain them from the pre-installed front fans, though this will require some additional configuration.  To start, let's look at the default configuration that the fans will be shipped in.

This configuration connects the front fans to the IN on the Front-Top fan, then chains the OUT from Front-Top to the IN on the Front-Bottom.  In this configuration, it may be difficult to daisy chain additional fans.  Thankfully the single-pack Aer RGB 2 fans do include additional daisy chaining cables for linking fans together.

We'll need to start by disconnecting the pre-installed connection cables for the RGB on the front fans and starting from the IN on the Front-Bottom.  From here, connect the OUT from Front-Bottom to the IN on Front-Top, then connect the OUT from Front-Top to the IN for the Aer RGB 2 on the Top of the case.  Lastly, connect the OUT from the Top fan to the IN on the fan for the rear of the case.

Alternatively, you can go in a reverse order starting from the fan on the Rear of the case, following this pattern:
Rear > Top > Front-Top > Front-Bottom, which will allow you to re-use the shorter IN-OUT cable from the pre-installed AER RGB 2 fans.
