Does the RGB & Fan Controller support non-NZXT RGB devices?

The RGB & Fan Controller uses a proprietary 4-pin NZXT RGB connector and does not have support for third-party RGB connections such as 5V Addressable RGB (ARGB) or 12V RGB devices.

What type of fans can I plug into the RGB & Fan Controller?

The RGB & Fan Controller supports most standard 4-pin PWM and 3-pin DC fans rated at 12V.  Industrial fans with higher power requirements may not be compatible with the RGB & Fan Controller

Can I connect multiple fans to a single Fan header on the RGB & Fan Controller?

You can connect multiple fans to a single Fan header on the RGB & Fan Controller, however you will be limited to a maximum total wattage per channel depending on the model of controller.

Note regarding PWM and DC fans:  In order to ensure proper operation, please do not mix PWM and DC fans within the same channel.

Does the RGB & Fan Controller support older NZXT RGB devices?

The RGB & Fan Controller supports Generation 1 NZXT RGB devices and newer without issue.  Please note however that you cannot mix different generation NZXT RGB devices within the same channel (i.e. Aer RGB and Aer RGB 2 fans are not compatible with each other).

Can multiple RGB & Fan Controllers be connected to the same PC?

You can connect multiple RGB & Fan Controllers within the PC, so long as you have both an available Internal USB 2.0 headers as well as a SATA power connection.  If you need additional Internal USB 2.0 headers, it is recommended to use a powered Internal USB hub such as the NZXT Internal USB Hub.

Can I set fan profiles based on the Liquid temperature of my NZXT Kraken cooler?

Thanks to community feedback, we have added the ability for the RGB & Fan Controller to communicate with our Kraken series coolers, such as the Kraken X, Z, updated Kraken series coolers.

Please note, this feature is not available for the Kraken 120 or Kraken M22 series coolers.

Can I connect a PWM or DC pump to the RGB & Fan Controller?

Due to the high power draw of PWM and DC pumps used for custom, open loop cooling systems we do not recommend connecting these devices to the RGB & Fan Controller.

Is the NZXT CAM software required for the RGB & Fan Controller?

While the RGB & Fan Controller can be used without installing the NZXT CAM software, to unlock the full potential of the device such as RGB and fan speed controls you will need to install the software.
