This guide will provide a basic overview of the UEFI/BIOS on the NZXT N7 B650E Motherboard. Please note, this guide will not go into detail for every feature of the motherboard, instead providing a basic overview of the UEFI/BIOS for each category.
For ease of use, the NZXT N7 B650E's UEFI/BIOS is broken down into several category tabs as shown below:

Main
The Main section provides a basic overview of your system, such as your BIOS version, Processor Model, current maximum speed, total memory, and the memory slots being used.
Using the tabs at the top of the screen you can select the different setting categories for the BIOS.
At the bottom of the screen you will find the Language Select and System Time. To adjust the system time, click the time to pull up the System date/time setting. Once you have set the time, click Apply and then OK to save the settings.
Tool
The Tool section provides some fundamental tools that some users may find useful for their system.
SSD Secure Erase Tool
This tool will allow you to select a disk drive on the PC that support the Secure Erase function. Files deleted using the Secure Erase Tool are lost and cannot be recovered. This function may not work for NVMe based SSDs, at which point you may need to use the NVME Sanitization Tool.
NVME Sanitization Tool
This tool will allow you to select an NVME SSD installed in the PC and completely wipe all data from the drive. Any files deleted using the NVME Sanitization Tool are lost and cannot be recovered. This function may not work for SATA based SSDs, at which point you may need to use the SSD Secure Erase Tool.
Instant Flash
This tool will allow you to update the UEFI/BIOS firmware on this motherboard using a ROM file provided from the motherboard's product page. For more information on using Instant Flash, please see our update guide linked below:

Auto Driver Installer
While this option is enabled, the motherboard will be able to connect to the internet once Windows starts up and download the necessary drivers for the motherboard such as updated drivers for the network adapter(s), motherboard chipset, and onboard audio. This feature is recommended for fresh installs of Windows, but can be disabled if you prefer to download the drivers yourself.
PC Monitoring
The PC Monitoring section provides a breakdown of the various sensors on the motherboard, as well as the ability to set controls for fans and liquid pumps connected directly to the motherboard. Each Fan Header will include some shared settings that can be adjusted to help tune the fans in your PC to your liking.
Fan / Pump Switch - This allows you to set where the header is being used to power a Fan or a Pump. When set to Pump mode, the header will be able to provide additional power necessary for many liquid cooling pumps. This setting is only necessary for water cooling pumps that pull power over either 12V DC (3-pin) or 12V PWM (4-pin). If you are using an NZXT Kraken series cooler or other cooler that is powered using a dedicated SATA or Molex connection, you do not need to adjust this setting.
Control Mode - This allows you to set the control mode for the fan according to type of fan that you are using. By default, this will be set to Auto and allow the motherboard to detect whether you are using a DC fan (3-pin) or PWM fan (4-pin). If you are having difficulty controlling fans set to Auto mode, it is recommended to set them manually based on the connector used.
Fan Setting - This allows you to set the speed at which the connected fan will operate from the included options.
- Silent Mode will prioritize quiet operation by only ramping the fans when the system temperatures reach higher levels
- Performance Mode will prioritize cooler operation by increasing the baseline fan speed at lower temperatures
- Standard Mode will balance quiet and cool operation, maintaining a moderate fan speed until higher temperature levels
- Full Speed will lock the fans at their maximum speed, which may be ideal in environments where noise is not a factor such as in a rack mounted case
- Customize allows you to manually set a fan curve based on a speed to temperature ratio at 5 different points. This can be useful for users looking for the most control possible of their system. Please note, if you are using the NZXT CAM software in Windows, this setting will be overridden while the CAM software is running.
Fan Step Up / Fan Step Down- This will allow you to adjust the interval at which fans will adjust based on their Fan Settings. Increasing the Fan Step will cause a more gradual transition at each defined temperature step while decreasing this will make the steps more sudden.
Temp Source - This will allow you to set the source used for the Fan Settings based on either the Motherboard temperature sensor or the CPU package sensor. For system/case fans, it is recommended to use the Monitor M/B setting while for fans connected to CPU coolers it is recommended to use the Monitor CPU setting. By default, this will be set to Monitor M/B for all SYS_FAN headers and Monitor CPU for the AIO_PUMP header. This setting is not available for CPU_FAN which will be set internally to Monitor CPU.
In addition to manual fan adjustments, an included FanTuning tool at the bottom of the PC Monitoring section allows the BIOS to test all fans in the system and identify the lowest available speed for each connected fan. This process can take a few minutes to complete, but can be useful for those looking to dial in their fans to minimal noise.
Please Note: When using the NZXT CAM software in Windows, FanTuning settings made within the BIOS will be overwritten. FanTuning is only recommended for those using operating systems not supported by NZXT CAM such as Linux, or if you are not planning to use the NZXT CAM software.
Exit
The Exit section is where we can save, discard, or reset the UEFI/BIOS settings once we are done in other sections.
Save Changes and Exit will allow you to save any changes you've made while in the UEFI/BIOS to the CMOS settings in order to be loaded during the next boot and restarts the PC.
Discard Changes and Exit will allow you to discard any changes you've made while in the UEFI/BIOS and restarts the PC.
Discard Changes will allow you to undo all changes you've made while in the UEFI/BIOS without restarting the PC.
Load UEFI BIOS Defaults will return the UEFI/BIOS settings to their original factory options
In addition to these settings, we'll have two boot related options to work with:
Launch EFI Shell from filesystem device is an advanced feature that allows users to load directly into an EFI shell saved on an attached storage drive such as a USB storage drive.
Boot Override will show a list of all detectable bootable drives connected to the PC, allow you to manually select which drive you want to boot from. This can be incredibly useful when you want to boot from a Live CD without changing your Boot priority or if you need to do a fresh reinstall of your Operating System.
