Congratulations on the purchase of your new NZXT Function Keyboard! Being greeted with an error on any new product can put a damper on the glorious occasion that is unboxing day. CRP Disabled is an unfortunate error that is a result of the firmware not fully initializing or updating on your Function Keyboard.
Updating your Firmware
First and foremost we want to make sure that NZXT CAM is not running on your system. To close CAM, you will need to navigate to your system tray, right-click the CAM icon, and click "Exit NZXT CAM" or "Exit NZXT CAM Beta" depending on which version you are using.
Next, since CRP is disabled, your Function will be identified as a USB storage device. On that USB storage device will be a firmware.bin file. You will delete that file. You will do this by right-clicking the file and selecting delete from the menu.
Now that you have deleted that file, you will add the new firmware.bin file that can be found here. Once you have downloaded the file, it is as simple as dragging and dropping it into the keyboard.
After the new firmware file is on the keyboard, you need to power cycle it. To power cycle the keyboard you just need to remove the USB from either the board itself or from the PC for 30 seconds and then replug the cable back in.
After you are done power cycling, relaunch CAM. DO NOT UNPLUG YOUR KEYBOARD DURING THIS STEP. Now that CAM is fully initialized your keyboard should be functioning properly.
We hope you enjoy your Function Keyboard and if you have any other questions please feel free to reach out to support!
