If your Kraken Z is not detecting in CAM it can be for a number of reasons. This step by step guide will help us determine the root cause of the issue and help us resolve it.
Step One: First and foremost, verify that the Kraken is installed correctly with the breakout and USB cables firmly seated into the pump head and on to the SATA power connector and USB 2 headers respectfully.
Step Two: After verifying the cables are correctly installed if you are still having issues try running a USB cable from the Kraken to the rear of the PC.
After running the USB cable to the rear you are going to close out of NZXT CAM completely and then relaunch NZXT CAM as an administrator. Then check and see if the Z is detected in the lighting tab.
If your Kraken detects when plugged into the back of your PC that could be indicative of a faulty USB cable. Please contact support to verify and if necessary receive a new cable.
After making sure that the Kraken is installed correctly and that there is no cable fault, please make sure your BIOS is completely up to date. Below are links to BIOS update instructions for most motherboards.
*For intel-based systems you will also need to update the chipset drivers found on your motherboard's product page under the support and drivers tab*
After updating the BIOS and chipset, if necessary, launch CAM as an admin and navigate to the lighting tab to see if the Kraken is detected.
If the Kraken is still not detected after all of the above steps please contact customer service at https://www.nzxt.com/customer-support
