CAM does not start automatically

By default, CAM should load automatically each time Windows starts.  If you're experiencing problems with this, follow these troubleshooting steps.

Is CAM set up to start automatically when Windows loads?

The first thing to check is that CAM is set to load automatically. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Open CAM and click on the Gear icon in the top nav bar to open the Settings page.
  2. Click on the General tab
  3. Under Boot Options, check Auto-start when Windows launches. If you do not want the CAM application to open on the desktop when it starts, check the Start CAM minimized option.

  4. Click Apply and then restart Windows.

If CAM still does not start automatically, you'll need to do some additional troubleshooting.

I verified that CAM is set to auto-start, but it still isn't loading.

To verify there isn't a problem with an incorrect path or missing file that is causing the problem, please follow these steps.

  1. Press the Win and R keys together. This will open the Windows Run command. The dialog box should look like this:

  2. Type shell:startup in the Open box and press Enter (or click OK).
  3. Delete any CAM icons present.
  4. Open CAM and click on the Gear icon in the top nav bar to open the Settings page.
  5. Click on the General tab
  6. Under Boot Options, check Auto-start when Windows launches. If you do not want the CAM application to open on the desktop when it starts, check the Start CAM minimized option.

  7. Click Apply and then restart Windows.
