In previous installers for our CAM software, since the introductions of our N7 line of the motherboard, we have been packaging Intel XTU (Extreme Tuning Utility) with our CAM software. With this software installed automatically, any user with an N7 would have the ability to overclock their Intel CPU.
CAM would still install Intel XTU on AMD systems even though there was no N7 present. We have identified that this has caused performance problems for some AMD users and as of CAM Version 3.7.7, the installer will no longer bundle Intel XTU's software on AMD systems.
If you have updated your CAM software from a previous version though, the current version of CAM will not remove the Intel XTU software. This would need to be removed manually. There are a number of ways to remove Intel XTU. We recommend removing Intel XTU with a 3rd Party Piece of Software such as Revo Uninstaller. You can find the free download to their software here.
Once you have installed Revo Uninstaller, select Intel XTU from the list of applications installed on your system. When removing with Revo uninstaller, we recommend you select the scanning mode for leftover files, folders, and registry items.
Then within the leftover registry items/folders, click the checkbox right next to any files or entries in bold black letters. Then select "delete".
After completed, restart your PC and Intel XTU will completely be gone from your system. If you run into problems with the removal of this software, please contact our Customer Service team for further assistance.
