Is the NZXT rental service rent-to-own?  How is this different from financing or "buy now, pay later" services?

The NZXT Rental service is not a rent-to-own program.  When you cancel your NZXT Rental, you are required to return your computer.  You are allowed to cancel at any time and are not required to pay any return service fees.

With financing services or buy now, pay later programs, you're ultimately committed to a purchase spread out over a period of time and responsible for payments until the purchase is fully paid off.  With a Rental however, you have not only the flexibility to cancel at any time but also access to additional perks such as access to upgrade options (as available), as well as an effective unlimited-term warranty so long as your rental is active.

Can I cancel anytime?  Are there any hidden fees?

With the rental service, you can cancel your PC rental at any time without the fear of any contact cancellation penalties, hidden fees, or other gotchas.  We'll even provide a prepaid shipping label to cover return shipping as well!

We do request that you hold onto all paperwork, packing materials, and accessories sent with your PC.  In the event that your PC is returned with missing accessories, paperwork, or packing materials you may be charged for replacements.  If you need replacement packing materials for your PC, please reach out to our support team to purchase a replacement packing set.

Will an renting an NZXT PC impact my credit?

The NZXT Rental service is designed to have as minimal an impact on your credit as possible.  The rental service will include an Order Review step (a common process for high-value products) which may involve a soft credit check as part of the verification process.  This soft credit check should not appear on your credit report or have an impact on your credit score.

If you cancel your rental and fail to return your PC, or do not make payments on time we will work with you to resolve the issue.  If you refuse to communicate with us to resolve your issue, your account may be referred to a collection agency which may have an impact on your credit.

I just placed an order for a rental PC, how do I know if my order went through?

Following checkout, you should receive a notice letting you know what to expect moving forward.  Email and text updates will also be sent, including an Order Confirmation email.  Each rental must go through a review process for basic risk checks, which is a common process for high-value products.  Please allow up to one business day for this review process to complete.  Once the review process completes, we will send you an email update regarding your rental status.

When am I charged for my rental?

When you subscribe, we will place an authorization hold on your credit card or form of payment.  Once your order has been reviewed and approved, you will be charged for your first month rent payment as well as any add-on items or setup fees.  If you cancel before review is completed, or if your review requires additional information and you do not complete it, you will not be charged and the authorization hold will expire after seven (7) days.

I placed an order for a rental PC but I changed my mind, can I still cancel my order?

Please contact us as soon as possible.  If we are able to cancel your order prior to your package shipping out, there is a good chance we can still provide you with a full refund.  The deadline for cancellations will vary and is based on business days at a certain time (time zone dependent).  If we are unable to cancel the order prior to shipping out, you may be charged a cancellation fee due to the costs incurred by the late cancellation.

How do I track my order status?

All updates for your order status will be sent to the email address used when you sign up for the rental service.  This will include order review, order approval, as well as shipping related updates such as your tracking number and confirmations when the PC is out for delivery or delivered.  Text messages may also be sent for the initial order request and delivery of your package.  For any further assistance, please feel free to reach out to our support team.

I placed my order, but I still haven't received a tracking number.

If you just placed an order for a rental PC, you will receive your tracking number within the shipping window provided at checkout.  This tracking number will be sent to you via email.

Please be sure to complete any verification or review steps sent to you in order to ensure your order is processed in time.  The review process is normally completed within the same business day, however in some cases it can take an additional 1-2 business days to complete.  Once the order review process is completed, your order will be sent for shipment processing the following business day.

What countries is the rental service available for?

Currently we are only offering the rental service throughout the contiguous United States.

How does payment for my rental PC work?  Am I required to pay for my rental before I receive it?

Subscriptions will renew automatically.  You must keep an active payment method on file at all times, ensuring that funds are present and there are no holds on the card at the time of renewal.  Your first month rent payment, along with any add-ons and setup fees may be charged before you receive the PC.

What happens if I miss a payment?

If for any reason a payment fails, we will provide you with helpful reminders to assist you with any billing issues.  We assume the best and try to avoid charging any late fees, just be sure to be communicative with us.  If your product is lost, stolen, or broken please contact us immediately to avoid any additional charges.

If you are delinquent in payment and we are unable to resolve the issue with you, your account may be referred to a collection agency which may have a negative impact on your credit.

How can I update my payment method?

To update your payment method for your rental, please contact us so that we can provide a secure link for you to update your information.

Why do you need my ID?

We require this information in order to prevent fraud.  This review process step is a common practice for high-value products offered outside of a purchase model (i.e. rental or subscription).  Your information is processed by Stripe, one of the most respected and tested companies in the world (Stripe handles hundreds of billions in payments annually).  Fragile (our rental partner) will not share your information with any third parties, except in select circumstances such as theft, and when we're required by law.  Please see our Privacy Policy for more information.
