AER RGB 2 Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I have multiple AER RGB 2 fans in a system?

A: Yes! Keep in mind that the limitation of how many fans you can have in a system does come down to the controller it is connected to. All of our NZXT RGB controllers support

Q: Can I have other NZXT RGB devices connected to the AER RGB 2 fans?

A: Yes you can, with most of our products we do include adapter cables that let you mix different RGB devices on the same channel. Keep in mind that you cannot mix Gen 1 and Gen 2 RGB devices and that there is a 40 LED limit per channel.

Q: Do I need an NZXT controller in order to use my RGB fans?

A: For RGB power, yes, but for fan power, you can use anything that supports a standard 4 pin PWM fan.

Q: What changed with the AER RGB 2 fans from the AER RGB Gen 1?

A: The motor and fan design is the same as the previous-gen, what changed was the microcontroller within the fan, which allowed for new RGB modes to be used with the fan.

Q: Can I use an AER RGB 2 fan to cool a radiator?

A: Yes you can, be aware though, static pressure fans will always have better performance than airflow fans. It's not a major difference but you could see slightly higher temps liquid/CPU.

Q: Can I combine the AER RGB 2 fans with 3rd party fans?
A: This is not possible, as we use proprietary hardware/software that would not be compatible with 3rd party hardware.
